Focusing on cybersecurity is important because, according to the 2022 Cybersecurity Workforce Study by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium, there are currently over 3.4 million empty positions in companies and organizations today. Industry experts believe the demand is even higher if we want to secure all enterprises globally. Therefore, there’s a big future in cybersecurity careers. Microsoft security is consistently named a leader in cybersecurity, compliance, identity, and management by multiple industry analysts such as Gartner and Forrester, who evaluate hundreds of vendors each year.
There are multiple Microsoft security, compliance, and identity certifications available. At the fundamentals level, there’s the SC900 exam, which gives you the Microsoft Certified Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals certification. This certification is optional but highly recommended before moving to associate-level certifications. The first associate-level certification is the SC200 exam, which gives you the Security Operations Analyst Associate certification, focusing on security. The SC300 exam provides the Identity and Access Administrator Associate certification, ideal for those managing identities and configurations. The SC400 exam is for the Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate, focusing on compliance settings.
