Video Transcript – New D365 Certification Customer Experience Analysts Associate
Hello everyone, we have some amazing news today. Microsoft announced a new beta exam for Dynamics 365 Customer Experience Analyst. In this video, we will talk about the exam and how you can save 80% on it, but only if you act fast. Before we discuss the exam, I wanted to quickly mention that Microsoft announced the retirement of three different Dynamics 365 exams on November 30, 2024. I did a video about it, so make sure you watch it if you haven’t already. This is important because this new exam is replacing all three of them.
The exam number is MB-280, and it’s the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Experience Analyst Associate certification. It’s available for you to take in beta right now. But first, is this the right certification for you? As a Customer Experience Analyst, you’re responsible for participating in Dynamics 365 Sales implementations, understanding your organization’s sales process, and demonstrating the capabilities of Dynamics 365 Customer Insights, Data, and Journeys pillars.
You also have experience configuring model-driven apps in Power Apps. You understand accounts, contacts, activities, leads, and opportunities, as well as the components of model-driven apps such as forms, views, charts, and dashboards. Additionally, you are familiar with Dataverse, including tables, columns, and relationships.
In addition to all that, you have experience working with Dataverse solutions and are familiar with Power Automate Cloud flow concepts such as connectors, triggers, and actions. You also understand the Dataverse security model and features, including business units, security roles, and row ownership and sharing. If we dive deeper and look at the skills covered, we first have implementing Dynamics 365 Sales, which is 25 to 30% of the exam.
Next, we have configuring and customizing Dataverse and model-driven apps, which is another 25 to 30% of the exam. We also need to know how to implement the Dynamics 365 app for Outlook, which is 10 to 15%. Additionally, we need to know how to implement security and customizations in Dynamics 365 Sales, which is worth 10 to 15%. Demonstrating Dynamics 365 Customer Insights capabilities is 10 to 15% of the exam, and finally, extending and enhancing Dynamics 365 Sales capabilities makes up the final 5 to 10% of the exam.
Looking at this list, it definitely seems like from the three exams it replaces, Dynamics 365 Sales is the tool that matters the most in this exam. It feels like you could pass the exam even if you’re not a pro at Customer Insights because there’s so much Dynamics 365 Sales in it. I was surprised to see how each one of those tools and platforms was weighted in the exam, and of course, it might change as the exam goes out of beta. Right now, it’s the next testing period in the beta period, and the weighting might change as this exam goes into general availability.
Now, before we close off, let me show you how you can get 80% off the beta exam. To save 80%, simply go to the exam page, which will be linked in the description below. Then, log in with your Microsoft account, go through the usual steps to confirm your address, choose where you want to do your exam (whether at a testing center or at home), accept the terms and conditions, and then choose the date and time slot you want.
By the way, I really like the new scheduling interface that Pearson VUE did. At the end, you’ll notice that I have a 75% discount as an active Microsoft Certified Trainer, and you might also have other discounts depending on your profile. I will remove that one and then enter the code MB280LMHIKING. This will give me 80% off the exam, so in USD, it’s only $37.94, which is great. This code, however, is limited to the first 300 people who take the exam MB-280 on or before September 6, 2024, so you need to act fast.
Before we close, what do you think about the coverage of the new MB-280 exam? Do you think this is in line with the Dynamics 365 Sales and Marketing experts today, or that Microsoft will need to adjust the weighting before they go live? Let me know in the comments below, and of course, don’t forget to like the video and subscribe to the channel to get the latest certification news.
