Last week, I talked about the DP-203 exam being retired and mentioned that one of the recommended replacements is the DP-700 exam. Well, here’s some exciting news: Microsoft just announced a way to get 50% off the DP-700 exam. Whether you’re thinking of upgrading your DP-203 exam or just interested in the DP-700, I’ll show you the multiple ways to claim this discount. This is a limited-time and quantity-limited offer, so you won’t want to miss it. Let’s get started!

Microsoft posted on the Microsoft Fabric Community, encouraging people to get certified in Microsoft Fabric for half price. There are a few things you need to do or have to get that discount. First, you need to have an account on the Microsoft Fabric Community. This is easy and free, so it shouldn’t take you more than a few minutes. Next, you need to have a Microsoft Learn profile. Again, you will need this to take the exam, and you probably already have it, so that’s another easy requirement.

The next requirement takes a bit more time, but you have three different options for this one. You only need one of them, but you have three options depending on the type of learner you are. The first option is if you previously passed exam DP-203, the exam that is retiring, you are good to go. This is Microsoft’s way to encourage Azure Data Engineers to upgrade their skills to Fabric, and I’m all for it. The second option is excellent if you like to study on your own time, and it’s to finish the Fabric Data Engineer exam DP-700 plan on Microsoft Learn. You will have the link for this in the description below. Finally, the third option is to listen to one of the Microsoft Fabric Learn Together sessions, either live or on-demand, starting on January 28, 2025. Again, you’ll have the link in the description below.

Let’s do a quick recap: you need to have a Fabric Community account, a Microsoft Learn account, and then one of the three prerequisites—either having passed exam DP-203, finishing the learning path at your own pace on Microsoft Learn, or following one of the live or on-demand Learn Together sessions. After you meet those requirements, you need to head to the URL on the screen or in the description below and fill in the form. There are a few more things you need to know. It will take between 7 to 10 days to get your voucher, and after you get it, you will only have 30 days to take the exam. You need to register and take the exam within 30 days. This offer is limited to either the first 20,000 eligible applications that request a voucher or March 31, 2025, whichever arrives first.
