Hello there! If you want to get a free Microsoft certification, you’re at the right spot. In this video, we will cover how you can get a free Microsoft AI or data certification exam with the Learn AI Skills Challenge. This is not the first time that Microsoft has done one of these, so why should you care? First of all, recent studies, which I will link to in the description below, show that AI skills can increase your wage by an average of 21%, which is amazing. And for those of you wondering why Microsoft is giving away free certifications, it’s because they want more people skilled in using their artificial intelligence tools, so it’s a win-win for everyone. So let’s get started on how you can get your free certification exam.

The first thing that you will have to do is to choose which challenge you will complete on Microsoft Learn, and you have four choices. First, you can complete the Azure AI Fundamentals Challenge. Second, you can complete the Azure Machine Learning Challenge. Third is the Azure OpenAI Challenge. And finally, you have the Microsoft Fabric Challenge. Now, you might wonder why those four challenges specifically. Well, it’s because each challenge is mapped to an eligible exam that you can take after the challenge. For this challenge, there are four exams available as part of the offer. The first one is the AI-900 Azure AI Fundamentals exam, which is mapped to the Azure AI Fundamentals Skills Challenge. We then have the AI-102 exam to become an Azure AI Engineer, which is mapped to the Azure Machine Learning Challenge. Third, we have the DP-100 exam to become an Azure Data Scientist, and this is mapped to the Build Next Generation Apps with Azure OpenAI Challenge. Finally, there’s the brand new DP-600 exam, which gives you the Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate certification, and it’s mapped to a challenge of the same name.

After you choose which Learn Challenge you’re going to do, you need to register for the Learn AI Skills Challenge. You can register starting today, and you need to finish your challenge before April 19, 2024. You need to register by going to the link in the slides, and don’t worry, I know you cannot click on the slides in the video, so you’ll find the link in the description of the video below. Remember to register with the same Microsoft account as your certification profile, as this will make redeeming the free certification a lot easier. After you click on “Register Now,” make sure that you also go to “Join the Challenge” and agree to the official rules of the challenge that you choose. You will get an email confirmation that you’re officially signed up for the challenge, which is really cool.

Now that you are signed up, it’s time for you to do your challenge or start learning. Yes, you get a free certification exam just by studying for that exam using free resources. It’s that easy. You learn for an exam, and then you can get a free exam voucher. Isn’t that amazing? Each challenge has a different estimated length that it should take you to complete. Of course, the fundamentals will take less time than an associate-level exam. For example, the Azure Machine Learning Challenge is estimated to take about 11 hours of learning. You can see all the different modules that you have to complete, and as you go through them, you will see at the top your percentage of the challenge completed. The goal is to make sure that you complete all of the Learn modules so you get the free exam.

The next step is the toughest part of the challenge: being patient. You will not get your free exam right away; it will be delivered one week after the challenge ends. Remember, it ends on April 19, 2024. If you do not get it by, let’s say, April 29 to give some time for the weekend, you can email challengesupport@microsoft.com, and they should answer within a few days.

The final step is to schedule and take the exam. Remember that you can only take one exam from the list we have seen before with this offer, either at a Pearson VUE testing center or by using the Pearson VUE online proctoring, so you can take the exam from home. As it is a Microsoft certification exam, it will be proctored. Another thing to know is that you need to take the exam before June 24, 2024. Lastly, if your certification goals for this year include taking both the AI-900 and an advanced exam, make sure that you use your voucher for the more expensive exam, as associate-level or expert-level exams are at a higher cost. This way, you could save more money.
