Microsoft 365 Community Conference FAQ

The biggest Microsoft 365 conference of the year is coming in May 2025, and as I attended all of them since the relaunch (even before it got renamed from the SharePoint Conference in 2018!). I wanted to do a quick FAQ with the most common questions I get about the conference! I hope this helps!

What is the Microsoft 365 Community Conference?

The Microsoft 365 Community Conference is the biggest Microsoft 365 focused conference in the world, and it’s the event with the biggest presence of the Microsoft 365 product team. Join to learn about all Microsoft 365 products including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Copilot, Viva, and many more! You will also have a few Power Platform sessions, mostly around integrations with Microsoft 365, and of course security and how to secure our M365 environment. The sessions and workshops are filled with real world experiences, general learning, product updates and more. The event is organized by NextGen365 and sponsored by Microsoft, among others.

Who should attend the M365 Community Conference?

Anyone who works with Microsoft 365 really, as the conference has sessions and workshops from everyone from end users to IT Professionals, and Developers. Past years also had an executive track focused on ROI and strategy. So if you work with Microsoft 365, this is the conference if you want to learn about best practices, new tools, and networking with the Microsoft 365 community.

Are there discount codes to save on tickets?

Yes, the conference typically offers early-bird discounts, and sometimes group rates for companies sending multiple attendees. Additionally, you can find discount codes offered by speakers. One of those discount codes is VLAD150 and it, like any other speaker code, gets you $150 OFF.

What topics are typically covered?

The conference will cover everything from collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and SharePoint to the latest in AI capabilities (e.g., Microsoft Copilot), automation of Microsoft 365 with Power Platform, and security and compliance solutions within the Microsoft 365 suite. Is Microsoft Copilot discussed at this conference?

Absolutely! It wouldn’t be a Microsoft conference with talking about Copilot, and AI. In general, AI will continue to be a big topic at the Microsoft Community Conference! Since this is of course Microsoft 365 focused, we will learn how to best use Microsoft 365 Copilot to enhance productivity and streamline work.

How can I get the most out of attending?

To maximize your experience, make sure you plan your schedule ahead by identifying sessions that align with your role or interests. Engage with speakers and fellow attendees during Q&As, participate in hands-on labs, and join networking events. Reviewing session materials post-conference is also helpful to recap what you have learned!

Are session recordings available after the event?

While session slides and some keynotes will be recorded, most of the breakout sessions are not available after the conference. Microsoft sometimes records a few sessions and publishes them, but it’s never guaranteed, so do not count on having access to the content if you do not register for the conference!

How does Microsoft 365 Community Conference compare with Microsoft Ignite?

While Microsoft Ignite is broader, covering all Microsoft technologies, the Microsoft 365 Community Conference is focused specifically on the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. It delves deeper into collaboration, productivity tools, and business solutions, providing more targeted sessions for those invested in Microsoft 365.

What is the cost of attending?

Ticket prices vary between $1,750 and $3,900 depending on how early you register and if you decide to only attend sessions or participate to the three days of workshops. To save money, make sure you register as soon as possible and use a discount code, such as VLAD150, to save you 150$ off any package.

How can I prepare for the conference?

Other than reviewing the sessions and agenda as we talked about, make sure you engage with other people from your organization to see if there are any questions they would like you to get answers from Microsoft or speakers on! Also, make sure you connect with others with the conference app, which usually opens a week before the event!

Is the Microsoft 365 Community Conference worth attending?

Absolutely! This is the flagship conference for everything Microsoft 365, so if you work with any Microsoft 365 tool, this conference will be worth it!

What’s the best way to network at the conference?

In-person, networking events are invaluable. Make sure to talk to new people at lunch, connect with speakers at “ask the experts,” attend meetups in the app, and talk to new people at the conference party! Make sure you stay in touch with attendees by connecting with them on LinkedIn or your favorite social media sites after to keep in touch until the next conference!

How Can I download the Microsoft 365 Community Conference slides?

Once the conference has started uploading slides, you will have a Documents button that will appear on your app home page. You can then click “Send Documents via E-mail” and get a zip file of all the slides!
